Handcrafted in Edmore, Michigan from 100% Northern White Cedar logs, this seven-foot bench is wide enough to seat three to four adults comfortably. The frame is built with mortise and tenon joinery reinforced with hardware — the same construction method Lakeland Mills has used since 1923. It is designed for outdoor use across all seasons without requiring shelter, covers, or finishing.
The seat and back are contoured to follow the natural curve of the body, making this bench genuinely comfortable for extended outdoor use. Northern White Cedar is lightweight for its strength, so the bench is substantial enough to stay in place but can still be moved when you want to reconfigure your space.
No finish or sealant is required. Northern White Cedar's natural oils provide built-in resistance to rot, insect damage, and moisture without treatment. Left outside untreated, the wood gradually weathers to a silver-grey. Apply a penetrating oil or outdoor sealant every few years if you prefer to maintain the original warm cedar tone.

Northern White Cedar is naturally rot-resistant, insect-resistant, and dimensionally stable, making it one of the few domestic woods that can spend its entire life outside without chemical treatment or annual maintenance. The result is furniture that improves with age rather than deteriorating.
A Note on Log Checking
Because this bench is made from real logs, it may develop small surface cracks as the wood acclimates to changes in temperature and humidity. Log checking is completely normal in solid log furniture — not a defect — and does not affect structural integrity or longevity. Cedar Log Contoured Comfort products are covered by a 1-year limited warranty against manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship. This warranty covers structural failures and defects present at time of manufacture.
