About Log Checking

Northern White Cedar is a living wood, and like any character worth knowing, it has quirks. One of those quirks is called "checking" — the natural process where wood releases moisture and develops surface cracks as it settles. These can range from a hairline sliver to a crack running the full length of a log, and here's the important part: they only ever appear on the surface. They have zero impact on the structural strength or integrity of your furniture.

Same two-person width, but the low back (28"H) keeps you upright and engaged. The high back (39"H) supports your head and neck for longer, more relaxed sitting.

How many people fit?

Two adults comfortably. At 47" wide, both people have real elbow room.

Does it need to be painted or sealed?

No. Northern White Cedar is naturally rot and insect resistant. Staining is optional for color maintenance or UV protection.

What table works well in front of it?
