Large Cedar Log Arbor
UPC: 729331115732
An arbor lives entirely in outdoor conditions: soil at the base, rain, humidity, full sun, and temperature changes through every season. Chinese fir, the wood used in most imported garden arches at comparable prices, isn't rot-resistant. In those conditions it degrades in 1 to 3 years — posts soften at ground level, joints at the top loosen, and a structure meant to support climbing plants and frame a garden path becomes a maintenance problem before the climbing roses have had a full season to establish. Northern White Cedar is naturally rot and insect resistant without chemical treatment. Cedar garden structures from Lakeland Mills regularly hold up for 10 to 20 years under normal outdoor conditions. The material that works for a cedar log chair works better for a fixed garden structure in permanent outdoor placement.
Placement and Use
Set this arbor at the entrance to a garden bed, over a path between yard sections, at a gate, or anywhere a vertical cedar log structure can anchor the space. The round log construction gives it the visual weight to hold its own against established plantings. Use it as a standalone architectural feature, or as a support structure for climbing plants — roses, wisteria, clematis, and vining annuals all take naturally to cedar log uprights.
Construction is mortise and tenon joinery at the structural connections and galvanized exterior hardware throughout. The natural cream Northern White Cedar tone weathers gradually to silver-grey if left untreated, or accepts any outdoor-rated stain or sealant to maintain the original color or match a specific outdoor palette.
