The 5 Foot Yard Swing provides extra width for relaxed, unhurried seating — a good choice when two people want room to spread out. Frame construction uses solid Northern White Cedar logs joined with traditional mortise and tenon technique. Seat and back slats are thermally modified wood — a chemical-free heat treatment that makes the slats significantly more resistant to moisture, warping, and decay. The swing is designed for use with a compatible freestanding A-frame, available separately as the TC5060 ThermaFusion Cedar 5ft A-Frame.
Both the cedar log frame and thermally modified slats are designed for full-time outdoor exposure. Cedar will weather gradually to silver-grey if left untreated; a penetrating oil maintains the original color. The thermally modified slats are dimensionally stable and will not check or crack with seasonal changes. No annual maintenance required.

The cedar log frame components may develop small surface cracks as the wood acclimates to changes in temperature and humidity. This is a normal characteristic of solid cedar construction — not a defect — and does not affect structural integrity. The thermally modified slats will not develop this type of surface checking. ThermaFusion products are covered by a 1-year limited warranty against manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship. This warranty covers structural failures and defects present at time of manufacture. It does not cover normal weathering, surface checking of cedar components, or damage from misuse, modification, or exposure to conditions beyond normal outdoor use.
