The Tete-A-Tete Porch Swing is a conversation swing — two seats share a central folding table, letting two people face each other while the whole thing swings gently from your porch ceiling. The table stores flat underneath the seat when you don't need it, so the swing works equally well as open seating for two. It's the kind of piece that anchors a porch.

The frame is built from solid Northern White Cedar logs joined with mortise and tenon construction — the same technique Lakeland Mills has used since 1923. The seat and back slats are thermally modified wood, treated through a chemical-free heat process that makes them significantly more resistant to moisture, warping, and decay than untreated lumber. No staining, sealing, or annual maintenance required.

This swing is designed for ceiling-mounted installation. Chains and ceiling hardware rated for the swing's load are required for installation; mounting hardware is not included. Hang from a solid porch ceiling beam or joist with appropriate hardware for the swing's weight capacity.

Left outdoors, the cedar frame will gradually weather to a silver-grey. A penetrating oil or cedar finish will maintain the original warm tone if preferred. The thermally modified slats will not check or crack with weather changes. Both materials can stay outside year-round.

Hand-built in Edmore, Michigan. Model TC5435.

Two seats face each other across a central folding table, creating a face-to-face swing designed for conversation. The table tucks flat underneath the seat when not in use, returning the swing to open seating for two. The full unit swings from standard porch ceiling hardware — chains and ceiling anchors required and sold separately.

The frame is solid Northern White Cedar joined with traditional mortise and tenon construction. Seat and back slats are thermally modified wood — treated with heat, no chemicals — giving them superior resistance to moisture, warping, and decay. The combination of cedar logs and modified slats is designed for full-time outdoor exposure without coatings or covers.

Neither the cedar frame nor the thermally modified slats require sealing or annual treatment. Cedar will gradually weather to silver-grey if left untreated; apply a penetrating oil to preserve the original tone. The slats are stable through seasonal temperature and humidity changes. This is low-maintenance outdoor furniture built for the long term.
