The ThermaFusion Cedar Rectangle Planter Box is built from thermally modified wood — a chemical-free heat treatment that makes the cedar significantly more resistant to moisture, warping, and decay than untreated lumber. For a planter that sits in constant contact with wet soil, that's the right material. No liners, sealants, or chemical preservatives required.

The rectangular footprint is ideal for lining a porch railing, running along the edge of a deck, or creating a low garden border in the yard. The longer profile accommodates a row of plants — herbs, trailing annuals, mixed perennials — giving you more planting area than a square format in the same linear space.

The thermally modified cedar is stable through seasonal temperature and humidity changes and holds up to all-weather outdoor conditions year-round without rotting or warping. Left exposed, the cedar will gradually weather to a silver-grey patina. A penetrating oil or cedar finish can be applied to maintain the original warm tone — no treatment is required.

Hand-built in Edmore, Michigan. Model TC5950.

The Rectangle Planter Box is built from thermally modified cedar — a chemical-free heat process that makes the wood significantly more resistant to moisture, warping, and decay. For a planter that holds wet soil and gets watered regularly, that matters. No liners, sealants, or preservative treatments required; the wood handles moisture exposure on its own.

The rectangular footprint is ideal for lining a porch railing, running along the edge of a deck, or creating a low border planting anywhere in the yard. The longer profile accommodates a row of herbs, trailing annuals, or mixed perennials, giving more planting area than a square format in the same footprint.

The thermally modified cedar construction is designed for permanent outdoor installation through all four seasons. It will not rot or warp under normal outdoor conditions. Left untreated, it will gradually weather to silver-grey. Apply a penetrating oil to maintain the original warm tone if preferred — no treatment is required.
